Govan Industries Pty. Ltd is a well-established Australian manufacturing company involved in explosion protected electrical equipment.

Since its inception in the 1949, Govan has been one of the few Australian companies supplying to domestic and international markets. Govan's quality has been a hallmark highly valued by all its customers.

In early stages of the company's growth, Govan focused on the domestic market in Australia, principally in oil & gas industry, refineries & petrochemical plants. In the early 1980's Govan expanded beyond the Australian shores and entered into international markets initially through agents in Singapore & Malaysia. Soon Govan consolidated its S.E. Asian operations by opening an office in Singapore.

The early 1990's saw Govan move into the Middle-Eastern market with a big bang and soon were on the approved list of major players like ARAMCO, KNPC and others.

Along with this market development, Govan expanded its product range as well, initially starting with Ex-d junction boxes and distribution boards, Govan also added Ex-e stainless steel and GRP enclosures, and also Zone 1 and 2 lighting fixtures, Plugs and sockets, specialised pressurised systems, custom-built panels and stainless steel lighting fixtures were added to Govan range of products.

Govan's innovation and hunger for new product development did not stop with this wide range of products. Govan then launched Petrochemical and Corrosive Liquid Handling products by acquiring "Petroleum Equipment Suppliers". The product range for this division included composite hoses, couplings and tanker fittings, which blended well with Govan's explosion proof product range.

Today the company has truly become a global player by having offices in many parts of the world and supplying goods to more than 20 countries worldwide. With its head office in Melbourne, Australia, Govan's network is spread widely from Japan and Korea to India and beyond to Saudi Arabia. Govan group has firm plans to enter into European and American markets in the near future.

Govan's success has primarily come from its ability to supply customised products and its flexible approach in accommodating ever-changing customer requirements. Its business philosophy has been to embrace change and move with cutting-edge technology, keeping customers in focus.
